Silent Film: symbolic burning of a flower
Urbanization has been affecting us in ways that many don’t realize. Our world started off with simple agriculture and hunting which brought little to no harm to our environment. Nature is what funds our life with trees and plants giving us the oxygen that we need. As industrialization began, we started harming the surroundings in immense ways. The creation of buildings and factories with advancing technology had led the world to be vastly different from what it was, making everything more efficient and accessible. However, because of these creations, we’re destroying our environment. Gas, water, air pollution, deforestation, destroying habitats are all evident as self-destruction. Most importantly, we’re destroying animal habitats for our own personal satisfaction which messes with the cycle. Through this video, it is shown the flower to be burning slowly. The purpose of the video is to show how we are slowly destroying our environment with our actions. A way that we could all contribute to helping bring the world back is showing more awareness to the damage we’re causing to our surroundings.

Drawing natural landscapes to highlight the beauty of nature
Credit: Painted by Reshma Lukose
Both of these artworks were created using acrylic paint. The first painting with the the mountains and the frozen lake displays the beauty of nature. The second painting displays a person rowing towards a waterfall. This image is in black and white because it represents the past. Human connection with nature is slowly being destroyed.
